Well we’ve come to the end of the challenge and, as always, choosing a winner this week was terribly difficult!  I finally decided on this entry from @anneliesemac as I love the busy-ness and concentration of this little poppet creating her own little masterpieces.

I have also decided to give a little ‘runner up’ award to @littlepickers who submitted a stack of fab images of her little guys living a rudy and the dodo life.  I think this one is my favourite!   Watch out for the postie @littlepickers as there is a little something on it’s way to you…

Firstly, I’m terribly sorry I’m a day late with this announcement however we have only had intermittent internet all week – not ideal for an internet based business, but anyhooo, we are all fixed now!

Once again, it was a terribly tricky choice with lots of gorgeous images of your little ones living a rudy and the dodo life – creating, exploring, painting, playing and using their imaginations! This week’s winner is tarsh97 for this fab entry showing her girls building a cubby and preparing for predicted rains.  I used to LOVE doing stuff like this as a kid!

instagram crochetWe LOVE instagram and we know a lot of you do too!  So, each week in August we are giving away a $50 gift voucher for our little store to the winner of the best photo posted to instagram using the #rudyandthedodochallenge hashtag.

We are all about kids making and doing, rather than spectating.

We want to see photos of your kids off the couch, exploring and creating, questioning and building, pretending, painting, playing and learning.

I don’t know about the rest of you (oh, hang on, yes I do! We are all the same boat) but I spend a large part of each and every day gently reminding my children to;

  • Flush the Toilet
  • Wipe the Seat
  • Wash Your Hands
  • Play Nice
  • Share Your Toys
  • Go Play Outside

On average, I probably say each of these phrases, oh, about 76 times a day.

So imagine my delight when I stumbled across this terribly clever artist who prints up my nagging requests and makes fabulous décor out of them.

Money burns a hole in my kids’ pockets.  They have bank accounts but don’t yet really appreciate what it means to see the balance climbing.  I reckon these little Money Monsters are JUST the ticket to get my little guys saving with enthusiasm!

They are due to land in store within 2 weeks.  To celebrate, we thought we would give one away to one of you adoring and terribly fabulous fans!

These little fellows say 25 funny things. They come in green, grey or pink and have girl and boy voices. They even do a groovy dance with their monster eye and ears when you feed them.

Money monsters gobble up coins and notes and they complain when you empty their bellies or forget to feed them! A built in sensor detects when you’re near and they call our for “more money!” Saving pocket money has never been so much fun. Battery operated, durable and light weight – what’s not to love?
