cubby love

We are preparing for a rainy Sunday here.  Rainy days often involve cubby houses at our place.   I have been searching for some inspiration so I am well armed tomorrow when the heavens open and my boys start climbing the walls.

If you are short on space, this ladder tent is a fab solution!  These happy little campers have used some fab IKEA fabric however an old sheet would do just fine.

How about a winter makeover for your sun shelter?  They make a fab indoor cubby and pop up in just a second.  Yay.

Make a project of it and create your own tent with some PVC pipe and a tablecloth!  You can follow the tutorial right here

And if all else fails, throw your biggest blankie over the lounge or dining room table, jump inside with the kids, snuggle up and enjoy!

This would no doubt become a race car in our house, but I love, love, love the idea.

If, like me, you only have a corner or small area to work with, it’s all about finding the perfect chair.  Yes, make it a statement piece, but be sure it’s comfy too!  Here are some ideas I found on pinterest;

rock star cubby houses

I am currently on a quest to find a fabulous cubby house for our three boys to enjoy.  I always had cubbies growing up and they are the scene of some of my greatest childhood memories.  So, my mission has unveiled some AWE-SOME rock star cubbies that can and will only ever sit on my “dream list” but I had to share them with you.  Which one is your favourite?
